Parenting Youth Programs

BAYC's transitional housing placement program, known as Real Alternatives for Adolescents or RAFA, also provides services to foster youth ages 16-20 years who have children or are six to nine months pregnant.

This specialized population of foster youth is underserved and pregnant and parenting youth currently have limited options for housing. The Parenting Teens Program affords these youth the same opportunities to build the skills necessary to live independently.  In addition to the educational, vocational and mental health services common to all of our housing programs, the Parenting Teens Program also provides assistance with parenting skills, parent-child bonding techniques, stress reduction, creating safe and healthy living conditions, time management and balancing life responsibilities.
