Understanding that all people experience setbacks during the course of the transition from adolescence to self sufficient independent living, we are committed to meeting youth where they are, ensuring that mistakes become opportunities for growth rather than the precursor to the loss of support services or homelessness.
In 2008 BAYC merged with Sunny Hills Services and now operates as the East Bay Division of this nonprofit charitable organization serving vulnerable youth and their families. For more information, visit the Sunny Hills Services website at www.sunnyhillsservices.org.
BAYC has been continuously evolving and striving to offer effective strategies for preparing vulnerable youth - those challenged with emotional developmental, educational, and mental health issues - to transition from dependence to healthy, adult interdependence. Our focus on the specific needs of transition-aged youth originated in our experience as a group home provider, watching youth leave care with the knowledge that their future, more likely than not, promised periods of homelessness, drug addiction, or prison. BAYC merged with Sunny Hills Services in 2008 to become the East Bay Division of Sunny Hills Services. The move allowed both organizations to expand programmatic and geographical reach and to strengthen their public policy and advocacy voice.
